Our Mission

Empowering Jewish American lawyers and insurance professionals to combat antisemitism through legal advocacy, education, and community engagement.

Our mission is to leverage our expertise to protect the rights of Jewish individuals and communities, and to promote tolerance and understanding in society. Together, we strive to eradicate antisemitism in all its forms and ensure a world where every person can live free from discrimination and hatred.

501(c) 4 Statement

Among its many important social activities that promote Judaism and bolster the presence of Jewish professionals, JINLAW also engages in significant lobbying work and seeks to change the landscape of antisemitism education and public policy. Because JINLAW may use monetary donations to support its political endeavors (in addition to its social activities), charitable donations to JINLAW are not tax-deductible.

President
Peter Hecht is the co-founder and EVP of Sales and Marketing at Magna Legal Services. He has been working in the legal services industry since 2001. He is based in Philadelphia, PA.

Barry Gerstein

Board Member
Barry is a senior vice president at Aspen Insurance. He has worked in the insurance industry since 1993. Prior to that, Barry practiced law at a large New Jersey law firm.

Aileen Schwartz

Board Member
Aileen Schwartz, Esq., CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPP/E is Senior Vice President, General Counsel Americas and Chief Privacy Officer at Hill International where she has been employed for over 16 years. She is based in both Hill’s Philadelphia, PA and Mt. Laurel, New Jersey Offices.

David Stark

Board Member

Mr. Stark served as Teva Pharmaceuticals Group Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer from 2016 to 2023 before retiring and founding Stark Creative Solutions. With roles spanning Teva since 2002, he led legal departments and worked at prestigious law firms. Mr. Stark holds a J.D. from New York University School of Law and has contributed to various boards and committees.

Elior Shiloh is a partner in the New York and New Jersey offices of Lewis Brisbois and chair of the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice. His practice is focused on Employment, Complex Business & Commercial Litigation, and Crisis Management.

Joe O’Neill is a Philadelphia lawyer and the founding partner of Marks O’Neill O’Brien, Doherty and Kelly, a regional defense firm in the Northeast.

Jon Ackerman

Board Member
Jon Ackerman is a founding partner and EVP of the record retrieval division at Magna Legal Services. Jon’s greatest strengths are his creativity, drive and leadership. He thrives on challenges, particularly those that expand the company’s reach.

Michael Ackerman

Board Member
Michael Ackerman is a founding partner of Paris Ackerman LLP, a transactional law firm based in northern New Jersey, representing multi-unit franchisees throughout the United States.

Staci Hecht

Board Member
Staci Hecht is a court reporter (RPR) and has been covering depositions, arbitrations and hearings since 2000.
